Health data is called the new oil — then quietly handed away through vendor contracts, platform terms and one-sided research deals.

The institutions that generate the world's most valuable clinical experience rarely own the intelligence built on it. Every consultation, protocol and outcome trains someone's algorithm, informs someone's product or prices someone's risk.

Too often the value flows outward. The intelligence built on that data belongs to someone else entirely.

The question is not who stores the data, but who owns the intelligence built on it.
